Gino's East

Gino's East has maintained its reputation as one of Chicago’s most loved pizzerias since 1966. From the California tomatoes in the sauce to the sausage made in Chicago, you can eat happily knowing that your deep dish is made with the best ingredients. Deep dish pizza is a "Chicago thing", so naturally we stopped here for an early dinner.  Luckily, it was not crowded at all and got a table right away.  

Offered in size small (4 slices), medium (6 slices), or large (8 slices), we opted to get one pizza size medium to share.  We built our own basic pie so it came with just cheese, crumbled sausage, and tomato sauce.  The sauce was surprisingly balanced and flavorful!  Some places can be too sweet or sour, and here I really liked it.  The cheese was plentiful and the sausage was chunky.  

We are not sure if this is "the best" place to get Chicago deep dish pizza, but it is one of the most popular and we enjoyed it!
