Thames Street Oyster House

Thames Street Oyster House serves inspired and traditional mid-Atlantic seafood, including Maryland classics and New England favorites, along with a spectacular a la carte raw bar, on the historic Thames Street waterfront. Chef Eric Houseknecht’s seasonal menu and daily specialty offerings are accompanied by warm, knowledgeable service in a converted historic row home, in the eclectic Fells Point neighborhood.

We went to Baltimore for the holiday weekend and stopped here for lunch on the patio.  We started with 18 raw oysters from Rhode Island, Virginia, and Maryland.  They were super fresh and briny, just like we like them.  They paired perfectly with a Fresh Orange Crush for Keith and a cold glass of Sauvignon Blanc for me.

I ordered the Maryland Shrimp Salad Roll for my main dish.  Plenty of gulf shrimp were stuffed in a buttered split-top bun, served with coleslaw and roasted carrots with goat cheese.  The shrimp was very bright with lots of fresh dill and perfect for this humid day.

Keith ordered the Rhode Island Whole Belly Fried Clam Roll served with house made pickle tartar sauce, coleslaw, and seasoned fries.  Growing up in Long Island, NY, Keith loves a good fried clam belly and these hit the mark just fine.

All of the seafood was fresh and tasty and a wonderful way to kick off our day!
