Senart's Oyster & Chop House

Owned by the same group that brings us Lola's, Molly Malone's and The Chesapeake Room, Senart's is directly across the street in the very building between 1913 & 1939 that the Senart family lived in a 1 bedroom apartment on the 2nd floor & proudly served fresh oysters & bar fare on the 1st floor. The year has changed but the restaurant is committed to the same proud service & offerings of the freshest oysters, chops & seafood. Closest Metro is Eastern Market.

El Pollo Rico

***Special Post by Keith***
Since Micky recently reviewed Nando’s I thought I would give a bit of a counter point and do a guest review of my favorite chicken place.  I usually like to keep these little secrets to myself so the crowds don’t overwhelm my lunch hour (I haven’t even taken Micky here yet, haha) but this place has already gotten plenty of press and I’m not sure it could get any busier.  It’s even been featured on Bourdain’s DC episode of No Reservations.  Of course I am talking about El Pollo Rico in Clarendon, Arlington.  Closest Metro is Virginia Square.

Nando's Peri-Peri

A self-service import by way of South Africa, Nando's Peri-Peri features Portuguese flame-grilled chicken served fast and tasty in a newly renovated space. Decorated with African art, a mix of modern and eclectic lighting, and simple wooden tables and chairs, Nando's is a refreshing surprise and change to the chain restaurants that adorn the Chinatown area.

SeventhHill

Taking over the former spot of Ben & Jerry's, SeventhHill is a new pizza joint with a simple menu — 11 pizzas with a range of toppings, a daily panino and daily soup. Although small in size, they are not small in hospitality. Pizzas are named after Capitol Hill neighborhoods, such as the Navy Yard, with tomato, Toulouse sausage, oregano and pecorino or the Lincoln Park with artichoke, rosemary, mozzarella, zucchini, and portobello.
