"Best of 2012" Celebration & Thank You Giveaway

The readers voted in the Washington Post's Express "Best of 2012" for their favorites of everything DC has to offer.  From Beauty and Arts to Dining and Fitness, many categories were covered and the winners were announced on October 18.   Yours truly won "Best Food Blog" in the DC Life category, and I cannot be more thrilled!  I am so honored that my little blog stood out and people want to read about what I eat.  To celebrate, I am hosting a "thank you" giveaway with prizes from four of my favorite DC restaurants (who also won in their respective categories). THE CONTEST HAS ENDED.

Taylor Gourmet Deli

Taylor Gourmet Deli serves fresh Italian hoagies in the up-and-coming "Atlas District" of H St NE. Importing meats and cheeses from Italy and fresh bread daily from Philadephia. The deli also features pastas, sauces, cookies, gelato, and wine. Their specialty seems to be the chicken cutlet sandwiches that are fried in olive oil and quite a generous portion. Closest Metro is Union Station.

H Street Festival 2012

The H Street Festival, which has quickly emerged as one of the fall’s coolest, most eclectic neighborhood festivals, returned Saturday, and nearly every popular business on H Street NE (and a few that haven’t even opened yet) took part in the street side food and drink stands, performances and eating contests. It was a gorgeous day and I set out early to capture all the various eating options that the festival had to offer.  From restaurants to vendors to free samples, check out my photo recap below.
