Pinspire Me

Pinterest is another social media craze that allows user to "pin" ideas on a virtual board that can be shared by others.  It is a great organizational tool for us foodies to pin recipes and share drool-worthy food pictures.  Check out my board of Must Try recipes and "pinspire" me!  Vote on which recipe I should attempt for my next installment of What Micky Eats...At Home.

At Home: Nutella Chocolate Chip Cookies

One of Keith's favorite flavors is chocolate hazelnut.  So for his birthday this year, I decided to make a dessert to go along with the dinner that I also planned.  I searched the interwebs for some inspiration and stumbled upon a few recipes for a cookie with Nutella in it as another dessert feature of What Micky Eats...At Home.

At Home: Chicken & Cheese Enchiladas

This next installment of What Micky Eats...At Home features the first "homemade" dish I ever learned to make: Chicken & Cheese Enchiladas.  It was sophomore year of college and my roommate and best friend, Lucinda, did much of the cooking in our humble Los Angeles apartment.  I have committed this recipe to memory and bust it out only for "special occasions", as it looks much fancier and harder to accomplish than it really is, but does take time to prepare.  It remains one of my dad's and Keith's favorite meals that I make.

At Home: Apple Cake

A couple of weeks ago, I won a giveaway hosted by the lovely and fashionable Dana.  I received her friend's new cookbook based on her blog Small Indulgences.  One recipe caught my eye and was fitting since I had some apples leftover and was trying to get rid of them.  I might as well put them to use for What Micky Eats...At Home.

Free Wine Corkage

Perhaps we should thank our sputtering economy for the rise in popularity of Bring Your Own Bottle (BYOB) in Washington, D.C. It’s one restaurant policy with some pretty obvious pluses. Not only does bringing your own bottle guarantee you’ll be drinking something you like, it will also save you some dough. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or just a casual night out, dust off that special bottle and toast to free corkage!

At Home: Mini Blueberry Cheesecakes

Finally as a nod to both teams, I made Mini Blueberry Cheesecakes for dessert.  Blueberries are locally grown in New England and cheesecake is a popular treat from New York. So why not combine the two for our game day dessert? Genius, I know!  Check out the other Super Bowl Snacks that we made and find the recipe on What Micky Eats...At Home.

At Home: Turkey Meatball Sliders

In honor of the New York Giants we settled on Turkey Meatball Sliders.  Keith makes these delicious Micky-friendly balls from scratch and allowed me to share the recipe with you all.  Keep in mind that Keith is liberal with the measurements and usually just goes by his eye.  Check out the other Super Bowl Snacks that we made and find the recipe on What Micky Eats...At Home.

At Home: White Clam Pizza

In honor of the New England Patriots we decided to make White Clam Pizza to showcase the "apizza" style renown in Connecticut (even though New England is considered a Boston team - we took liberties with the "New England" theme, m'kay?).  Check out the other Super Bowl Snacks that we made and find my recipe on What Micky Eats...At Home.

At Home: Super Bowl Snacks

Did your pick win the Super Bowl?  As I mentioned before, I could care less about football but I don't mind all the food I ate last night as we watched the game on TV.  For this next installment of What Micky Eats...At Home, I want to highlight some twists on the classic Super Bowl Snacks that we made...

PREVIEW Super Bowl Snacks

Who is your favorite to win the Super Bowl?  Honestly, I could care less about football but I don't mind the snacks that go along with the beer drinking and couch sitting that occurs while watching the game.  In preparation for my next installment of What Micky Eats...At Home, I want to highlight some twists on the classic Super Bowl Snacks that we are considering to make.  I encourage you all to check out these recipes as well for your game day party menu.
