Tony D's

Tony D's is a new restaurant in the Corn Hill section of downtown Rochester, NY and features coal fired pizza and other Italian gourmet foods. Serving customizable thin crust pizza, panini sandwiches, salads and oven fired chicken wings - the smokey aroma from the oven and the welcoming bluster of noise from the bar fills the restaurant with a warm vibe.

The wait staff, although young, were very friendly and attentive. I went with my family while I was in town and we were quite a large party. We were seated on the outside covered patio which has spectacular views of the Genessee River - unfortunately it was pouring rain - but the staff made sure we did not get wet. This place is a favorite of my uncle's who works for the local brewery and likes to promote the fact that Tony D's serves their beer. Everyone devoured the specialty wings and shared a few different pizzas. The crust is thin and light and the toppings ranged from traditional meatballs or sausage and mushrooms, to clams, roasted peppers or goat cheese. All in all, the food is tasty, this place is up to date, and a welcomed addition to the downtown area. I would recommend this place for lunch or after work happy hour get togethers.
