Known locally as Pepe's, is has its original location in the Wooster Square neighborhood of New Haven, CT, as well as stores in Fairfield, Manchester and Danbury CT, the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, CT, and in Yonkers, NY. On our drive home to DC we made a pit stop for lunch at the Fairfield location.

Mystic Pizza
While in Mystic, CT we had to make a late night stop and get "a slice of heaven" from Mystic Pizza. Most famous as the setting for a story of the lives and loves of three young waitresses in the 1988 movie of the same name that was filmed on location in Mystic and neighboring towns, Mystic Pizza is a town favorite. But does the pizza hold up to reputation?
Treehouse at Oyster Club
Tucked away in the trees with a view of the Mystic River, the Treehouse at Oyster Club is an outdoor bar and deck "where smoke and fire meets the ocean." In the tradition of classic Southern coastal cuisine, the menu features smoked fish, raw and grilled oysters, smoky pork burgers, local produce and tasty sweets just to name a few. The bar offers craft cocktails like a moonshine lemonade, great wines and frosty beers. Don't miss the ice cold oysters, harvested from local waters and shucked specifically for you.
Danny's Drive-In
Danny's Drive-In in Stratford, CT has been serving fresh fast food for nearly 80 years. In an effort to go green, they have modified their menu in the direction of more conscious eating with burger meat that is now "humanely raised and handled." Keith and I stopped for lunch here on our way up to Mystic, CT.
