Tash

Tash is the Persian word for "flame" and one of the newest restaurants to open along my beloved Barracks Row.  Serving Iranian and Mediterranean cuisine from a wood-burning brick oven and a giant open-flame charcoal grill, Tash is brought to us by husband-and-wife owners Nariman (Nari) Modanlou and Vanessa Lim. Closest Metro is Eastern Market.

Moby Dick House of Kabob

Moby Dick’s House of Kabob has healthy, wholesome and fresh fast food, and is perfect for a quick lunch or dinner fix. Not only can this be a healthful, low-fat way of enjoying meat, it also can be an eat-and-run way of enjoying flavorful Persian foods. With several locations across the DMV area, I recently went to the one in the Clarendon area of Arlington, VA. Daily specials are available as well as classic salad, sandwich and platters.  Closest Metro is Clarendon.
