Iguanas Cocina Puertorriqueña

Located at the Club House overlooking the golf courses at the Wyndam Grand Rio, Iguanas Cocina Puertorriqueña serves up some of the island’s best Puerto Rican flavors.  For our final dinner on the island, we took the free 5-munite shuttle over right before sunset.

Roots Coastal Kitchen

Roots Coastal Kitchen offers farm-to-table Caribbean comfort food with an inspired flair from Executive Chef Ramón Carrillo in collaboration with Top Chef finalists Jeff McInnis and Janine Booth. Located in the Wyndham Grand Rio in Puerto Rico, we dined here one time for dinner and then ordered lunch from the "To-Go" offerings on another day.  

Caicu Bar & Tapas

Caicu Bar & Tapas is an indoor cocktail lounge within the Wyndham Grand Rio Resort overlooking a beautiful beach bordering vibrant reefs. Alongside delectable Caribbean bar bites, guests can sip on handcrafted Bacardi cocktails, or sample a rum flight of local spirits from the rum capital of the world.

Palio

Indulge in premium steaks complemented by a gourmet assortment of Italian cuisine and seafood with a Caribbean twist. Sample the rich fare of land and sea alongside an expertly curated wine list at Palio Ristorante, located int he Wyndham Grand Rio Hotel.

Pirilo Pizza

Pirilo Pizza is a popular pizza restaurant in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico that serves traditional Italian fare with a Puerto Rican twist.  Reservations are available online, however this place tends to get super crowded with both tourists and locals, so be prepared to wait nonetheless.

Princesa Cocina Cultura

Inspired by 6 different cookbooks dating back to 1859-1950 and family recipes, Princesa Cocina Cultura is the only restaurant in Old San Juan where you'll be surrounded by trees and vegetation that make you feel the magic of the story behind the place.  After exploring the nearby fort and castle, we stopped here for lunch.

Marmalade

Marmalade highlights Caribbean influences with a creative blend of eclectic and nutritionally inspired ingredients in a generous tasting menu of five courses for $129 per person with wine pairing for an additional $69. Chef-owner Peter Schintler provides a fun celebratory evening in the heart of Old San Juan, Puerto Rico in this award-winning restaurant. We dined here for an early birthday dinner and left with full bellies. 

Deaverdura

Deaverdura is an easygoing corner restaurant in a colorful space dishing up traditional Caribbean meals.  Located in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico, be prepared to queue up in line outside while waiting for a table.  We ate here for lunch on our first full day of exploring the city.

El Jibarito

El Jibarito is a long-running restaurant producing classic regional & Caribbean-style dishes in colorful surrounds in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico.  After our arrival, we got settled in the hotel and immediately head out to explore the town a bit.  We stopped here for dinner.

Aquaire

During our stay at the El San Juan Resort and Casino, we ate lunch everyday at the poolside bar called Aquaire.  Alberto and the rest of the staff had a lot of patience to put up with our crazy group of girls.

Platos

Just a quick minutes stroll from the El San Juan Resort in the heart of Isla Verde, Platos invites you to experience the authentic local Puerto Rican cuisine complimented by an excellent wine selection and a modern Bar.  This casual restaurant should not be overlooked when visiting San Juan.

Dragonfly

Dragonfly is Old San Juan's most hip, ground-breaking, and talked about restaurant.  Featuring cutting edge Latin-Asian Fusion cuisine and sushi, Chef Severo Duran mingles exotic spices and ingredients with creative twists.  Designed to resemble an old opium den in tropical Asia, Dragonfly's sexy gold and red interior is the perfect place to go for parties and special occasions.

KOCO

KOCO, located in the fabulous El San Juan Hotel & Casino in Isla Verde, is the newest, hottest OOF! Restaurant, and the design showpiece of the company.  KOCO features Chef Hector Crespo’s interpretation of Modern Caribbean dishes, using fresh island ingredients, artistic presentations, and traditional techniques to create a new vibrant, soulful cuisine.  KOCO features an extensive Rum Bar and the chicest lounge in town, serving a hip modern take on some classic Caribbean cocktails, and the largest selection of rums on the island.
