I ordered the Suntan Spritz - campari, sparkling wine, club soda, orange, and rosemary. It was not too sweet, which I liked. Keith ordered the Island Old Fashioned made with dark rum, bitters, star anise and orange. He expected it to be a bit stronger, but found it to be refreshing nonetheless.
As an appetizer, we shared Deviled Eggs with plantain chips and the Conch Fritters with spicy aioli, cilantro and lime. These were classic starters with a subtle Caribbean twist.
For my main course, I ate the Charred Octopus with smoked plantain bbq, caramelized maduros, cilantro and lime. I was pleasantly surprised by the sweet and smoky mashed plantains. The octopus was tender and overall I enjoyed this dish.
Keith ordered the Grilled Swordfish with coconut sticky rice, yellow coconut curry, topped with katafi-wrapped shrimp. It was a little dry - he was expecting much more curry sauce, but found the coconut not to be overpowering.
