Barracks Row is a popular Spring/Summertime hangout spot on Capitol Hill. It's a great place to eat, sip, chill, dog-walk and people-watch. This year's Taste of 8th -- an annual event where nearly twenty restaurants present their tasty treats, cool sips and signature dishes -- is being held on Saturday, April 28th (1pm-4pm).
Here's the confirmed lineup:
Events like these are certainly "foodie heaven", because you get a little of this (burgers, hot dogs), a little of that (cupcakes, spirits), and some more of that (Mexican, Asian Fusion) all for a low price. Check here for updates.
PS: Volunteers wanted!
Volunteers are assigned to restaurants to help and collect tickets for a shift of two hours. We need volunteers for two shifts, the first starting at 12:30 pm and ending at 2:30pm and the second shift starting at 2pm and ending at 4pm. We are also looking for a few volunteers to help with set up starting at 11:30am.
If you are interested in volunteering, please email Haley Harter at volunteertasteof8th@gmail.com and include your name, contact information, t-shirt size (S, M, L, or XL) and preferred shift time. If you already have a Barracks Row Volunteer t-shirt, it would be much appreciated if you wear it to this event so we have enough t-shirts for everyone. Volunteer shift times requests are not guaranteed, but we will do our best to schedule everyone the shift they want. If you are flexible, can work both shifts, already have a T-shirt or are volunteering with a group, please include that in the email.
