At Home: Bul Go Gi

Another classic grilled Korean beef dish is Bul Go Gi (Grilled Marinated Beef).  This dish is often found on Asian food trucks and is becoming more and more popular with restaurants wanting to put their own modern spin on it. Check out my mother's traditional recipe listed below on What Micky Eats...At Home.

Sunny's Bul Go Gi (Grilled Marinated Beef)
  • 1 lb sliced ribeye beef (sukiyaki style)
  • 3 Tbsp chopped scallion and garlic
  • 1 Tbsp sesame oil
  • 3 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 4 Tbsp pear puree
  • ½ teasp black pepper
  • 2 teasp sugar
  • 1 large onion, sliced

- Mix all the ingredients (minus the meat) to make marinade.  Add to meat to marinate for 30 minutes.
- Stir fry or grill meat on both sides, flipping until done.

TIP: You can purchase CJ Korean BBQ Original Sauce (ready-made marinade in jar) from the Korean store.  Just marinate your meat with this sauce for easy Bul Go Gi anytime!
