***TOP 10 in DC - 2014 Favorites of What Micky Eats***

Out of nearly 100 restaurants that I've dined at across the globe this past year, here is my list of Top 10 restaurants in DC from 2014. The ranking is based purely on the total scores received. For more details - read each post for yourself!  Don't see your favorite? Feel free to leave a comment below, and I'll try to check out your favorite place next year.

1. Iron Gate (4.7) - The ambience is very romantic despite the crowded dining room, with dim lighting and a warm cozy fireplace to set the mood. I highly recommend the Iron Gate for special 'date night' dinners and other special occasions...Read More

2. Osteria Morini (4.63) -  The service was approachable and timed well, and the ambience was jovial and warm with great views of the water front. The food showcased Italian specialties and ingredients that are top notch, and I welcome this great addition to the neighborhood...Read More

3. Sushi Capitol (4.6) - Serving perhaps the freshest sushi in DC for incredibly modest prices, this Japanese family-owned hidden gem has quickly become my go-to spot.  I highly recommend the omakase - you will get your money's worth and leave with happy bellies...Read More

4. Kapnos (4.43) - For 'small plates,' the portions at Kapnos are generous and perfect for sharing.  The inspiration from Northern Greece to create a menu of spreads, breads, vegetables and other spit-roasted meats is enjoyable...Read More

5. DC Noodles (4.38) - Originally designed to offer an Asian fusion menu, DC Noodles is an authentic Thai restaurant that blends a sophisticated menu with a neighborhood attitude and a community spirit.  The flavors were fresh, bright, and colorful, which was echoed by both the service and the decor...Read More

6. Fiola (4.38) - The plating and presentation of dishes were a little more traditional and comforting than I expected, but was still innovative with the combination of ingredients used. Service was very attentive, almost pampering...Read More

7. Del Campo (4.38) - The portions and quality of ingredients were much better than most steakhouses - bone marrow is usually an extra $10 or so, thus it was a treat for each steak dish to receive it. If you're looking for a steakhouse experience, but are tired of the old standard then Del Campo will satisfy...Read More

8. Rose's Luxury (4.33) -  I was impressed with not only the quality of food, but the finesse that Rose's has to offer...the food and price, and above all - the service - are what makes this restaurant stand out in my neighborhood...Read More

9. Art & Soul (4.33) - We had a nice brunch at Art and Soul. While the crowd can be a mix mostly of hotel patrons, the decor was pleasant and the staff courteous. Though our food took a while to come out, I did not mind the wait as everything tasted worthwhile...Read More

10. The Pig (4.33) - We had a large meal for a decent price that is fit for pork-lovers of all kinds. Service at The Pig was friendly, expeditious, and professional...Read More
