Lesley Riley, also known as Mama Biscuit, makes fresh gourmet biscuits with the finest ingredients and no added preservatives. Her trademark are adorable heart-shaped biscuits, in a variety of sweet and savory combinations - "always made with love!"
Lesley contacted me to sample her biscuits, and I was happy to do so. She delivered them to me on a cold rainy evening, and they were still warm and wrapped up in super cute purple packaging.
She noted they are best served warm (just pop in the microwave for 15 seconds), or at room temperature. If you don't want to eat them right away, the biscuits can be frozen up to 6 months, but should only be thawed and re-frozen once.
For lunch, I tried the most savory in the bunch - Chicken Stuffed Pot Pie with Herb de Provence and rosemary. The rosemary was super fragrant and really elevated the basic biscuit recipe base. This was one of my favorite biscuits. I also tried the Eggnog Peppermint, that had specks of candy cane inside, while Keith enjoyed the Pineapple, Banana, & Rum Upside Down biscuit. It was very fruity and tasted exactly like the famous cake.
Later, we shared the Chocolate Meets Salty that was topped with caramel drizzle and bourbon smoked sea salt. The dark chocolate flavor was intense throughout the dough, and not too sweet providing a satisfying dessert. I loved the contradiction of salt against the caramel.
