Black Bear Bistro & Brick Oven located in Warrenton, VA offers the best of farm fresh local and organic ingredients with old-fashioned family value, and generous portions of great food at very reasonable pricing. All dishes are prepared to order using the finest produce, herbs, cheeses, breads and meats. Meals are complemented by excellent Virginia wines plus a great selection of Virginia brewed draft beer selections. We stopped in for lunch on this 90 degree day.
We ordered a dozen of the
Fried Oysters served with celery sticks and cocktail sauce. The oysters were incredibly plump and creamy, and very briny. They tasted great and would be perfect with a local beer.
I ordered the
Turkey Melt made with smoked turkey on grilled wheat bread with bacon and muenster. The meat was thick and tasty, and overall this was a filling sandwich.
Keith ordered the
Reuben Burger - a grilled 8 oz patty with smoked corned beef, thousand island, swiss, and sauerkraut. Though a bit messy, this burger had decent flavor.
Brick oven pizzas are also made downstairs in the cellar area, where a more formal dining area is located. Outdoor patio seating is available, too. If you are in the Old Town of Warrenton, or visiting the local wineries, check out Black Bear Bistro for a casual meal.
