Passions on the Beach

Passions on the Beach located at the Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort on Eagle Beach, Aruba allows you to dine and relax with your bare feet in soft white sand as you enjoy the calming sounds of the ocean caressing the shore, soft light from the tiki torches and a good glass of wine while you watch the sun set. Passions offers the most romantic dinner experience on the island. Choose a delicious meal from the dinner menu that offers a mix of meat dishes and fresh fish. Passions also provides the perfect location for wedding parties or other special occasions.

For our first night in Aruba, Keith and I decided to stay at our hotel for dinner on the beach.  The sun had just set, so it was getting dark quickly.  The wind had blown out our tiki torch, but the menus were back lit.  We decided to start with the Ceviche Mojito - fresh raw fish cured in lime juice, onion, celery, tomato, chili and cilantro with a dash of spiced rum. The presentation in a glass cube was unique, and the fresh was fresh and plentiful with lots of lime juice.  Keith really enjoyed it.

For my main course, I chose the Perfect Match - grilled Mahi Mahi topped with broiled scallops and a tarragon cream sauce served with garlic mashed potatoes and a roasted vegetable ratatouille.  Again, the fish was a huge piece, meaty, and cooked perfectly.  The scallops were a bit overcooked and hard, though.  The vegetables tasted good and the cream sauce was not too heavy.

Keith decided against seafood and instead chose the Retro Lamb that was herb crusted with a Dijon and honey mustard and served with gravy on top of roasted vegetables.  Another huge portion with a pretty presentation.

All in all we had a lovely dinner on the beach and our first meal in Aruba was excellent.
