We walked over for dinner on this chilly winter's eve night. The restaurant was mostly full, and full of enticing Indian spice aromas. We sat and quickly ordered a bottle of wine to share - 2018 Bernier Chardonnay from Loire Valley, France. This unoaked chardonnay was dry with tart green apple notes, and paired well with the spicy curry.
We ordered a few favorites, which made for a great shareable spread. The Bombay Shrimp Biryani was super fragrant with layers of aromatic basmati rice and spice. Unfortunately, the dough dome on top was still raw. The Chicken Tikka Masala was a bit spicer than I'm used to, and very aromatic with its infused creamy tomato sauce. Keith also enjoyed the Spicy Goat Curry. To soak up all the extra sauce, we ordered fresh Naan and extra raita (spice yogurt) to help cool things off.
Overall, we enjoyed our spicy and comforting meal. We had lots of rice leftover to take home and enjoy the next day. The atmosphere is very casual and family-friendly. The price is very reasonable, and there are many other traditional items on the menu that we'd love to try.
