On this beautiful Spring day, we walked over to Bammy's for some drinks and snacks outside. I started with the Tropical Sangria made with guava, grapefruit, Aperol, and rosé. It was light and fruity and easy to drink. Keith tried the Pain Killer - a bit stronger with coconut, pineapple, orange, and a blend of Jamaican rums. The coconut was a bit too heavy for him to have more than one.
For snacks, we shared the Spicy Cheese served with coco house rolls and pepper jelly. The cheese spread had a nice kick that was addictive.
One of my favorite snacks from the Caribbean are Conch Fritters, so I definitely wanted to order their version. Made with sweet peppers and scallions, the filling was a little lacking in the conch, but the fried balls were a nice generous size.
Keith wanted the Jerk Chicken Wings and they had a nice smoky-sweet barbeque flavor. Perfect for game days!
Lastly, since the sun was shining so bright, I decided to end with a Frozen Piña Colada. The blended concoction of coconut, pineapple, and Jamaican rums was delightful.
If you are heading to the Nats game or just want to spend a lovely afternoon outside overlooking the water, check out Bammy's at Navy Yard. You'll be treated with friendly sand attentive service and enjoy a tropical escape in the heart of the city.
