Summary: Nestled among the shops and restaurants in the Ferry Landing Marketplace on Coronado Island, CA – the Village Pizzeria is a casual joint with decent pizza, calzones, and beer specials. Offering take out or dine in with a great view of the Bay, the Village Pizzeria is convenient for tourists and locals alike. A second location on Coronado is right on the bustling Orange Ave near the Hotel Del.
March 2009: Had dinner here with some coworkers after a long day, and we were seated quickly under the heating lamps. Although it was already too dark to see the Bay, it was nice to be seated outside. Our server seemed new as she was unsure about our order and asked us a few times to repeat. However, they scored points and a deserved write-up with the size and fresh ingredients of the calzone I had. It was good enough to mention to others the next day - who ended up going there and ordering one for themselves. My friend ordered the spaghetti and meatballs, which was a large portion as well. If I was looking for a casual place to eat, that has a great view of the Bay, I would eat here again.
UPDATE: Went to the second location a year later and had dinner with my friend and her two year old son. Kid friendly and casual, I figured this place would be good for us. Our server was a little busy and so it took a while to get our orders in and then the check afterwards, but all in all this place isn't too bad. There are tv screens so people can watch the sports games and enjoy their pizza. My portion was large enough to fill a large take home box.
