Negra Modelo is #theperfectcomplement to good friends and good food. Built to pair really well with a variety of flavors, the beer’s roasted caramel malts, combined with great local fare, create a fiesta of flavor that few other beers are able to stand up to.
Negra Modelo is widely recognized for its gold-foiled bottles and unique, gold-rimmed glasses, specially designed for drinking. This particular recipe was born at the quarter of the 20th century. To craft something truly unique, the Negra Modelo Brewmasters created the Munich Dunkel (dark) style lager by slow roasting caramel malts, a technique that makes the brewing process last twice as long as other beers.
I was contacted by the Negra Modelo team to host a party featuring Negra Modelo beers and recipes crafted by Chef Rick Bayless, and then share my experience with you all.
I received a $50 gift card to purchase groceries to create my meal and a tasting kit that includes a set of two beer glasses, a serving board, and butcher’s rub gift box spice set.
First up, we made the Roasted Tomatillo Guacamole. This classic Mexican party dip was a crowd pleaser and has a nice twist with the tomatillos plus some chicharrón for added crunch. I just loved the extra hint of lime. Get the recipe here.
As an appetizer to pair with the beer, I made his Creamy Chipotle Shrimp Tostadas. This little bite is loaded with smoky flavor from the adobo sauce and so easy to whip together. The small servings are great for parties! Get the recipe here.
For the main entree, I made Negra Modelo Slow-Braised Beef Short Ribs. This hearty dish is cooked in a crock-pot, so you can prep well before you party starts and let the machine do all the heavy lifting. This recipe is the perfect way to infuse more beer into your menu, and it paired so well with the beef. Get the recipe here.
We had a great Mexican-themed party with great beer and great food. Next time you plan a party, consider Negra Modelo - it is #theperfectcomplement. Check out more easy-to-prep recipes from Chef Bayless.
