Keith and I traveled to Thailand for our 5th wedding anniversary. While there we ate many casual street food delicacies, but also took time to enjoy a more formal restaurant dining experience. Steve's was our first stop. You can arrive by river boat, but we ended up taking an Uber instead. The patrons were a mix of locals and tourists.
Next, Keith really wanted an authentic Thai curry soup - but the staff flat out refused to serve it, stating how super spicy it would be and that he could not tolerate or enjoy it. They insisted he get the Red Curry with Shrimp. Served with a side of heart-shaped white rice, this curry was very mild and did not have as much seafood in it.
I really wanted a whole fish. The Deep Fried Sea Bass was gorgeous in presentation and covered in fried garlic with a spicy sauce. It was a nice size and plenty for two people to share.
Overall the ambience was cool along the river, where we were able to see the sun set. The location was not that difficult to find, and I liked how we had to take our shoes off before entering the restaurant, as is typical in most Asian establishments. The menu is quite vast, where the best bets would be whole fish and curries, though don't expect anything too spicy.
