Sitting outside, we could people watch all the tourists walking by. We came pretty early, so finding a table was no issue. To start, we ordered a bottle of popular white wine - Pošip Nerica. It was crisp and acidic with specific taste of nuts and a pleasant almond bitterness on the palate. This would become our favorite Pošip during our trip.
To eat, Keith ordered the Seafood Risotto. Made with scampi bisque, prawns, clams, squid and parmesan it had a prominent seafood flavor but was surprisingly bland.
I ordered Clams Buzzara - but they were out of clams and offered a Mussels version instead. Tossed in a basil puree with kulen (prosciutto) and confit tomatoes, this dish was more salty and flavorful than Keith's. The mussels were bright orange and very fresh.
Service was friendly and fast, the ambience was buzzing, but the food was just okay.
