The Orange Cow food truck serves super premium homemade ice cream, hand-dipped from the truck available in 2 oz and 5 oz servings (double, triples, quads) as well as sundaes and pints to go. Milkshakes and floats are also available. They offer incredibly low prices for the quality and serving size (all natural ingredients). During the Fall, they feature warm toppings for the ice cream so as to not be a “summer only” truck. They are available for office, birthday and other private parties.
On this muggy day at Trucko de Mayo, after we had sampled enough savory items, we wanted dessert. The only options were popsicles, cupcakes, or ice cream. The line at the Orange Cow truck was moderate compared to others when we arrived. We saw the large portions and fun sundaes that came away, so we chose to wait here. And wait we did. Almost 40 minutes later...the line moved sooo slow. By the time we got to the window they had run out of about 4 flavors as well as all milkshakes! We were a little disappointed to say the least. These food truck rookies only had 2 people working the truck - but it is ice cream, you don't really have to cook anything. How hard is it to scoop ice cream into a cup?! C'mon! Poor planning on their part, especially for a festival event such as this. We opted for a double scoop ($4) and it was plenty for the both of us to share. The flavor of the strawberry and cream was very natural and premium as advertised. But I rate them low on the service scale for the rookie mistakes mentioned above.
