It was a chilly cloudy day on this Memorial Day weekend, but we had already made plans to each Brunch before heading to the Nats game. Three courses for $35 sounded like a great deal. First, Keith started with a Bloody Mary while I ordered a Mimosa.
For the main course, I enjoyed the classic Quiche Florentine made with Farm at Fireside spinach & der Alpen cheese. Served with a small side salad, I loved this dish. Paired with a mimosa made me think I was in Europe for a second.
Keith enjoyed the generous Buttermilk Fried Chicken served with hot honey, a large buttered hoe cake, and a side salad. The chicken was crispy on the outside and solid juicy meat inside. This dish was filling.
Lastly, for dessert Keith chose the Boston Cream Donut stuffed with a light vanilla pastry cream and I chose the Cinnamon Bread Pudding drizzled with a rich caramel. We were both pretty full, but slowly finished our sweets to end the meal.
All in all we had a great brunch. Service was friendly and timed well. The interior design was modern and clean. They have a lunch time pop-up open Wednesday through Sunday called Ampersandwich that we'd like to try as well.
