Bokeria

Bokeria is a stylish outpost offering international bar bites, mains & desserts located right outside Diocletian's Palace in Split, Croatia. Evoking by name the spirit of Barcelona’s world famous La Boqueria market, Bokeria is one of the first establishments in the city that had combined the experience of a restaurant together with that of a wine-bar. It boasts of a spectacular interior design that makes it one of the most recognizable places in the city. The food at offer is seasonal, with a modern take on the pan-Mediterranean cuisine. The extensive wine lists promises a good time even if you just visit the place for some fine Dalmatian wine and tapas.

After a full day out on a boat tour, we weren't exactly sure what time we'd be back so did not make any dinner reservations ahead of time.  Luckily, we were able to get a table right away at 7:30pm, before the regular dinner rush began.  We sat outside in the middle of the buzzing people walking by.

To start, we ordered a bottle of Plavac Mali - a popular red wine that we liked.  With it, Keith enjoyed a bowl of gazpacho.  It was bright and nice for summer.

I ordered the Burrata Salad with fresh cherry tomatoes, peaches, oranges, and basil.  It paired classically with the red wine.

For my main course, I ordered the Truffle Pasta - pasta tossed in a creamy truffle sauce with extra mushrooms, arugula, and prosciutto.  It was DELICIOUS!

Keith enjoyed a steak served with truffled mashed potatoes and pickled cabbage slaw.  It was cooked to his liking and happy meaty change to all the seafood he'd been having during our trip.

Overall, we had a nice meal and while this place is a bit more touristy, it was modern and the food was good.
