Summary: Santini's is a casual deli that serves quality products that are all top choice and served fresh daily. A total of three locations service the Northern Virginia area. The famous rolls and bread are baked by a local Italian bakery every night and delivered to Santini's early every morning. Santini's pizza features a thin crisp crust, Grande cheese, and specially seasoned Italian pizza sauce baked in a fire brick oven. Soups, salads, sandwiches, and even breakfast are also served.

We stopped by Santini's for a quick bite to eat before watching an event at the Patriot Center nearby. The place is casual, order at the counter, pay and seat yourself. Admire the kitschy NY Yankees, NY Jets, NY Giants decorations as you wait for your food to come out. Seating is plentiful enough and typical for a deli style shop as this was. Our food was decent, and passed the authentic pizza taste by Keith. I enjoyed my large calzone and even though I could not finish it, I still had to try a piece of cake that I had been eyeballing at the counter and ordered a slice to go (of course I had a bite though!).

What I ate:

Calzone de Casa
mozzarella, provolone, Parmesan, ricotta, Italian sausage, Danish ham
served with marinara sauce
Red Velvet Cake
Plus Keith ate:
Pizza
a slice of plain mozzarella and marinara sauce
Steak and Cheese Sandwich
grilled slices of Prime Rib eye, provolone, onions, peppers,
lettuce, tomatoes, mayonnaise
served on a toasted sub roll with a pickle
