On this rainy day, Keith and I head up to Cleveland Park to catch a movie at the Uptown Theater and stopped into Byblos Deli for lunch beforehand. Keith swore that we had been here before, but I really did not remember and looked through my post archive to see that I never wrote it up. So not sure if I had been here before or not. Either way, I am glad we came. This super casual deli is quick and conveninet, with great service and excellent prices. You place your order at the counter and then find a seat. Chef Marc will promptly bring out your freshly cooked meal. I settled on the Byblos Combo - a light plate of hummus, baba ghanouj and some warm rice-filled grape leaves. Keith ordered a lamb gyro with a side of fries. Although very messy, the lamb had great flavor and was not overly tough as some other places. The shish tawook - marinated grilled chicken with hummus and tomatoes on a pita - caught my eye too, so I would like to try that next time. All in all, the portions are generous and the food is decent. Great place for lunch.
