Ellē  (pronounced "ell-ee") is a cafe, bakery, restaurant, and bar. During the day, they are counter service, serving coffee and rotating baked goods, sandwiches, and pastries. At night, they turn into a full service restaurant and bar.  Closest Metro is Columbia Heights.

The Pretzel Bakery serves small batch, hand-rolled, Philly-style soft pretzels fresh-out-of-the-oven all day, from a little row house in Capitol Hill.  Open Wednesday - Friday 8am to 6pm, Saturday 9am to 6pm, and Sunday 9am to 5pm.  Closest Metro is Potomac Avenue.

Fortunato Brothers

In October of 1976, the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn inherited a great gift, when three brothers from Italy decided to open a bakery shop that would sell authentic Italian pastries. Shilla Bakery

Shilla Bakery provides fresh and gourmet pastries, bread, cakes, cookies, bubble tea drinks and other goodies. There are several locations of this casual Korean bakery and cafe in the DMV area. I first visited the one in Annandale (aka Koreatown) with my mother.
