Featuring partners Executive Chef Katsuya Fukushima and Daisuke Utagawa (of Daikaya fame), the dynamic duo will continue to educate and satiate scores of ramen lovers by hosting the first round of classes in November, with additional dates to be announced in the near future.  I was invited to a sneak "slurp" preview and share my insider pictures below.

Pizza Making Class @ Graffiato

Did you know October is National Pizza Month? In its honor, I took a pizza making class at Graffiato led by Chef de Cuisine, Jose Adorno.  Classes were offered every Sunday this month and my dear friend, Lucinda, was in town so I thought this would be a perfect way to spend the night and catch up with her.  Plus, she and her husband are big Mike Isabella fans, so she was just as thrilled to dine here.

Northern Greek Cooking Class with George Pagonis

I've been to the Hill Center DC before, and returned this time for the Northern Greek Cooking Class with Chef George Pagonis. Chef Pagonis is a recent cheftestant on Bravo's Season 12 of Top Chef. This class was advertised about two months before the show aired, but knowing that our area has produced some fantastic Top Chef alums, I grabbed a ticket to this event and asked fellow blogger, Lori - who is also a huge Top Chef fan - to join me. Naturally, she agreed.

Sur La Table Cooking Class

In 1972, the first Sur La Table store opened in Seattle's Pike Place Market. It was a place where serious cooks found a surprising selection of culinary tools from around the world, with helpful, knowledgeable employees who loved cooking, too. With more than 100 stores across the country now, Sur La Table has a website and catalog viewed by millions of people each year and a highly regarded cooking class program. I recently attended a class at the Pentagon Row store and wanted to recap my experience below.

The store occupies a renovated and extended townhouse built in 1884 in the historic Capitol Hill neighborhood of Washington, D.C.  In addition to fine kitchen products, a knowledgeable staff, and excellent service, classes and demonstrations are available upstairs.

Barracks Row Culinary Education Crawl

This past Sunday, February 17th Barracks Row along 8th Street SE, became a cooking school campus with the 2013 Barracks Row Culinary Education Crawl. Over 20 classes were offered from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. from establishments such as Zest Bistro, Cava, Hello Cupcake, Senart's, Matchbox, Ambar, Lavagna, and Old Siam.  I luckily snagged tickets to the cooking class at Belga CafĂ© and dragged Keith along.
