DC Restaurants with the Best Ambience

I use a weighted scale to rate five different categories when I review a restaurant.  The most important factor is of course the food; followed by price, service, ambience, and accessibility of the restaurant.  It is not just about the best scenic view - the overall décor, atmosphere, and general vibe of the restaurant are also critical factors to help set the mood for a wonderful night out.  Below are the DC restaurants who received my highest ambience score so far this year.

Rasika West End - "A contemporary décor sporting jewel tones, striking Indian art, and the combination of dark and light woods sets off this dynamic space. The major focal point is the eye-catching ceiling, created to resemble a Banyan tree a nod to its important role in Indian culture...The ambience was modern and airy with careful attention to detail by the staff." Read More

Biergarten Haus - "Biergarten Haus brings the feel of a traditional German beer garden...the front entrance area is decorated as a typical hunting lodge with an all wood bar and buck head on the wall...We were seated upstairs and it was not as crowded as usual, which was nice. Various Olympic games were displayed on the tvs and we had prime viewing." Read More

Ben's Chili Bowl at Nationals Park - "Enjoy a chili half smoke and all of your favorites at the Ben’s stands while watching a game this season." Read More

Blue Smoke at Nationals Park - "Blue Smoke has opened up shop at the Nationals Ballpark right here in Washington, DC." Read More

2941 Restaurant - "Set in among luxuriously landscaped woods in a remote area of Falls Church, VA, the restaurant features elaborately designed waterfalls, Koi ponds, and fountains that one can enjoy from any seat...unparalleled water views, floor-to-ceiling windows and contemporary feel" Read More

Indique - "...the hostess escorted us upstairs where it was much warmer and already filled with many diners. Dimly lit by a large chandelier, the interior is modest yet tries to appeal to the romantic senses...The service and atmosphere were great - very warm and inviting. " Read More
